Fourth Trimester of Your Pregnancy

Updated: Sep 25, 2022

It’s such a common situation, when an expectant mom is focused on a delivery. There are many various courses, consultants and midwives who tell you how to make your delivery easy and painless. Usually you waste a lot of time on it, and it is really important, but will last for nearly one day.

In fact, the postpartum period is much longer. And you will be one on one with your baby. The 12-week period after you have had your baby is called ‘the fourth trimester of your pregnancy. Not everyone has heard of it, but every mom will go through it. It is a time of great physical and emotional change as your newborn adjusts to be outside your belly. You should definitely be prepared for adjusting to your new life as a mom.

What difficulties may await you after childbirth?

The most common things usually happen with newborn: newborn transistor conditions, such as baby acne, physiological jaundice, erythema and other skin problems; baby hormonal crisis; weight loss; etc. It may take a lot of effort to establish breastfeeding.

You will also face daily routine and baby care, newborn’s sleep, baby stool. But the most important thing is that all these conditions may go through your baby blues or postpartum depression, that happen much more often than it might seem.

Of course, the key to get through all of it is the support of your partner.

But it is also important to have evidence-based knowledge and be well-prepared parents before you give birth to the Main Boss of your life.
